How does the booking process work?

To begin, please contact Studio Odette to check availability and receive a personalised quotation. Once you are happy with the quote and wish to proceed, your booking can be secured.

For weddings, a signed contract and a 30% retainer fee are required to confirm your booking. The remaining balance may be paid in full or according to an agreed payment arrangement.

For special occasions, including matric farewells and photoshoots, full payment is required at least two weeks prior to the booking date.

Please note that all bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates cannot be reserved or held without the required payment.
Travel fees may apply and are subject to change. All bookings are subject to our Terms & Conditions and cancellation policy.

Do you offer a trial/preview?

Yes, absolutely — and we highly recommend it. Whether you're preparing for your wedding day, matric farewell, or another special occasion, a trial appointment allows us to collaborate on your desired look in a relaxed setting. During the session, we'll discuss your vision, preferences, and any inspiration you may have, while creating a customised hair and makeup look tailored specifically to you. This ensures you feel confident, comfortable, and beautifully prepared for your special day.

Question 3

Who will be doing my Makeup and Hair?

Your makeup and hair services will be personally provided by Odette Prinsloo, an internationally qualified Makeup Artist, Image Consultant, and Hairstylist with over 12 years of industry experience.

For most bookings, Odette will work directly with you and your bridal party. However, depending on the size of the booking, the services required, and the event timeline, an assistant may be required to ensure everything runs smoothly and on schedule. This is typically necessary for larger bridal parties where more than five or six services are required in addition to the bride's hair and makeup.

Destination weddings and larger bookings can be accommodated and discussed during the consultation process. Please note that an assistant fee will apply where additional artists are required.

What are your prices?

As every client and event is unique, all quotations are tailored to your specific requirements. As a guide, the following starting rates apply:
Bridal Trial: from R1,150
Bridal Hair & Makeup: from R1,250
Special Occasion Makeup: from R750
Special Occasion Hairstyling: from R600
Please note that premium hairstyling services, including Hollywood Waves and Couture Styling, are quoted separately and priced according to the complexity and time required.

A travel fee of R6.50 per kilometre applies and is subject to change without prior notice. Toll fees will be included in the travel rate. Should overnight accommodation be required, arrangements and costs will be discussed and quoted accordingly.

Question 5

How far in advance do I need to make my booking?

Accepted Answer

The sooner, the better. Popular dates, particularly during wedding and matric season, can book up 12–18 months in advance, while other bookings may be secured only a few weeks before the event.

While Studio Odette may still have availability closer to your date, we strongly recommend booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment and ensure your date is reserved.

Please note that bookings are confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. Dates cannot be held or secured without the required payment and, where applicable, a signed contract.

Are you able to handle a large bridal party?

Absolutely. 
Studio Odette can accommodate bridal parties of various sizes and is able to provide both makeup and hairstyling services for your entire bridal party.
For larger bookings, a team of experienced assistants can be arranged to ensure your wedding morning runs smoothly, efficiently, and according to schedule. This allows every member of your bridal party to enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable pampering experience without feeling rushed.

The number of assistants required will depend on the size of the bridal party and the event timeline. Please note that an additional fee applies for each assistant included in your booking.

Question 7

What Skincare and Haircare prep do I need to do before my appointment?

Beautiful makeup and hairstyling begin with healthy, well-prepared skin and hair. To ensure the best possible results, we recommend following a consistent skincare and haircare routine in the weeks leading up to your appointment. Follow a healthy diet and drinks lots of water. Arrange for your spray tan a day or two before your appointment (test it out before your important day),

Once your booking has been confirmed, you will receive a detailed preparation guide containing all the information and recommendations needed to help you prepare for your service.

Question 8

Can I only book for Makeup or Only Hair?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. While many clients choose to book both makeup and hairstyling services, you are welcome to book either service individually.

Whether you require professional makeup application, hairstyling, or both, Studio Odette will create a look that is tailored to your personal style, features, and the occasion.

Question 9

Travel fee and Accommodation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Studio Odette currently charges a travel fee of R6.50 per kilometre. Please note that travel rates are subject to change without prior notice due to fluctuations in fuel prices. Any applicable toll fees will be included in your personalised quotation.

Accommodation is required for locations situated more than 2 hours from Studio Odette, as well as for bookings with early start times (from 06:30) where travel exceeds 1.5 hours.

For destination weddings and events, travel and accommodation requirements will be discussed and quoted on an individual basis to ensure a seamless experience for your special day.

Question 10

How do destinations weddings work?

Studio Odette is available for destination weddings both within South Africa and internationally. Depending on the size of your bridal party and the event schedule, we carefully plan our travel and service timeline to ensure a relaxed, seamless, and stress-free wedding morning.

In most cases, Studio Odette will arrive at the destination the day before the wedding, provide hair and makeup services on the wedding day, and depart the following day. This allows ample time for travel and ensures we are fully prepared for your special day.

Destination wedding quotations are customised and typically include travel, accommodation, flights (where applicable), and a daily food allowance/provided food in addition to the hair and makeup services.

What is Airbrush Makeup?

Airbrush makeup is a technique where foundation is applied using a specialised airbrush device that gently sprays a fine mist of product onto the skin. This creates an exceptionally smooth, lightweight, and even finish.

The formula used is typically silicone-based and often vegan-friendly, designed to blend seamlessly into the skin for a flawless complexion that photographs beautifully. Airbrush makeup is known for its long-lasting wear and natural-looking coverage, making it ideal for weddings, events, and camera-ready occasions.
